THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has awarded a total of P7,563,780.08 to four confidential informants who helped the agency in its successful anti-drug operations.
The awardees are part of the “Operation Private Eye”, a citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of private citizens to report illegal drug activities in their communities.
In yesterday esvent at the PDEA headquarters, informant “PEKKA” received P2,000,000 for providing information that resulted in the confiscation of 22.522 liters of liquid shabu, 252.926304 kilograms of pseudoephedrine, 109.428 grams of ephedrine and the arrest of a Chinese in Baesa, Quezon City, on May 30, 2017.
Informant “MILO” received P2,000,000 for his information that resulted in the seizure 49,831.70 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride and the arrest of a Chinese during an interdiction operation on the 2nd level parking space of Red Planet Hotel at ASEANA, Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City, on June 3, 2017.
Another informant “ROD” also got R2,000,000 for giving tips that led to the seizure of 71,205.70 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride and the arrest of a Chinese in Barangay Manuyo, Las Piñas City, on July 13, 2017.
Informant “KOOLET” received R1,563,780.08 for his report that resulted in the confiscation of 23,996.79 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Ana, Manila, on June 12, 2018.
