POLICE killed two suspected carnappers who allegedly resisted arrest shortly after they took the car of a 19-year-old woman in Tondo, Manila, yesterday morning.
SPO3 Charles John Duran, investigator on case, said one of fatalities was in his 20’s, wearing a green t-shirt and maroon short pants and had “Everything for a reason” tattoo on the chest, while the other was described as 25 to 30 years old, 5’4’’ to 5’7’’ tall, and clad in yellow shirt and checkered short pants. They were declared dead on arrival at Tondo Medical Center due to gunshot wounds.
Police said that prior to the shooting incident, Marjorie Munoz, 19, of Sta. Cruz, Manila, reported that two unidentified men on board a motorcycle forcibly took her car on H. Lopez Boulevard in Balut, Tondo, at 3:20 a.m.
Upon receiving the complaint, police conducted a checkpoint along Road 10 in Balut to intercept the suspects. Minutes later, members of Raxabago Police Station spotted the duo at Sitio Scarborough.
When police operatives tailed them, the suspects sped off and fired shots at the chasing police officers.
The cops retaliated and killed the two suspects.
Police seized five sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects.
Probers recovered from the crime scene a .38-caliber gun with four spent shells and one live ammunition and a .9 mm pistol with four shells and one live ammunition.
Police have yet to establish the identities of the slain suspects. (Erma R. Edera)
