Creamline took advantage of a short-handed Ateneo-Motolite to score a convincing 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 romp and seized the solo lead in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Sunday at the Baliwag Star Arena in Bulacan.
Alyssa Valdez fired all her 19 points in attacks to extend the Cool Smashers’ winning streak to six games and improve to 6-1.
Jema Galanza finished with 10 points while Rizza Mandapat also pumped in all her seven points on spikes for Creamline, which exploited the absence of Maddie Madayag, Kim Gequillana and Kat Tolentino. The three senior players were attending a required school activity.
Creamline dominated the attacks (44-3) and had more services aces (8-3) to hand Ateneo-Motolite its second loss in seven games.
Meanwhile, Pocari Sweat-Air Force recovered from a two-game slump with a tough 16-25, 26-24, 18-25, 25-23, 15-13 win over BanKo-Perlas.
Myla Pablo erupted for 23 kills for 24 points while Iaro Yongco finished with 17 points built on nine spikes and eight blocks as the Lady Warriors clinched their fourth win in seven matches.
