WHEN Kobe Paras was focused on the TV and was trying to cover from a friend during the recent match between Ateneo and Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), many fans – even those watching from the comfort of their homes – were once again thrilled.
And to think the game was held in Batangas City, Paras – as they say – must be totally in love with the girl from Ateneo.
And who’s that lucky girl?
Is it Ponggay Gaston?
Well, many say ‘yes’.
But the two won’t confirm or deny any “sweet” relationship although a photo taken last May suggests “something” between the two rising stars.
Like Paras, Pongay is not only an athletic marvel. Both are charming athletes.
Paras, however, will suit up for the University of the Philippines Maroons next season.
And they have great fathers to boast.
Pongay’s father – Fritz – played for Ateneo during his prime and has played the PH team for several years.
Kobe’s father is two-time PBA MVP Benjie Paras.
A basketball-volleyball “sweetheart” relationship is nothing new.
