Ateneo-Motolite tries to cement its hold of the top spot when it clashes with Tacloban today in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is at 4 p.m. with the Lady Eagles seeking a follow up to their stunning 25-18, 25-20, 15-25, 23-25, 15-12 win over fancied Creamline Cool Smashers last Sunday.
The Katipunan-based spikers also hope to repeat their thrilling 25-18, 19-25, 11-25, 25-17, 15-11 first-round triumph over the Fighting Warays last Oct. 17 to firm up their semifinal bid.
Toting a 7-2 card, Ateneo-Motolite will once again rely on Kat Tolentino and Bea De Leon after the duo made the crucial stops against former collegiate teammate Alyssa Valdez in their victory against Creamline.
The Lady Eagles also boast of Maddie Madayag, Vanessa Gandler and Deanna Wong.
Tacloban, which sports a 4-5 mark, just wants to bounce back from a recent 25-20, 15-25, 27-25, 25-23 loss to Iriga-Navy.
Former Army spikers Nene Bautista and Joanne Bunag spearhead the Fighting Warays’ assault along with Florence Madulid and Grazielle Bombita.
Meanwhile, surging Iriga-Navy aims to extend a two-game run when it squares off with PetroGazz at 6 p.m.
The Lady Oragons currently carry a 3-7 record while the Angels are at 4-3.
