Games Today
(Smart Araneta Coliseum)
2 p.m. – UST vs Adamson
4 p.m. – NU vs De La Salle
Denied the last time, Adamson tries again to formalize its entry to the Final Four while De La Salle aims to move closer from advancing to the next round as they take on different opponents today in the UAAP men’s basketball at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Falcons shoot for the secon
d semifinal berth as they clash with University of Santo Tomas Tigers at 2 p.m., while the Green Archers battle the National University Bulldogs at 4 p.m.
Adamson and La Salle are battling for the second twice-to-beat incentive in the Final Four as the two teams are separated only by one game with the Falcons sporting an 8-3 card while the Green Archers carrying a 7-4 record.
Defending champion Ateneo has the league-best 10-2 slate and is assured of at least a playoff for one of the twice-to-beat bonus.
Adamson is nursing a 62-48 defeat to Ateneo last Sunday, and coach Franz Pumaren said it’s all about completing the job and not rely on other teams.
“We just have to do our own job, we cannot rely on other teams beating the other school for us to be assured,” said Pumaren, whose team downed UST in the first round 79-71 last September 22.
