The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) continues to build hope for young persons with disabilities as the final leg of the 2018 “Differently-Abled Sports 4 LIFE” Paragames in now underway at the Xavier University–Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City.
PSC Commissioner and Program-in-charge Arnold Agustin said the agency hopes to motivate, inspire and stimulate the marginalized kids into becoming sporting stars in the region in the likes of Para-Games swimmer Ernie Gawilan, chess wizard Sander Severino and table tennis Josephine Medina.
“Our para-athletes will play on six different sports such as, athletics, swimming, badminton, table tennis, bocce and goalball,” said DAS4LIFE Assistant Project Director Jan Facundo.
Around 200 differently-abled students from all over the city are taking part in different games and lots of fun activities serving as grassroots sports development program of the agency, in coordination with the Department of Education Division of Cagayan de Oro.
