Diliman College tries to regain the solo lead when it faces Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas today even as Olivarez College goes for a semis berth in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 3 at the Olivarez College in Parañaque City.
Already in the semis, the Diliman Blue Dragons are not only targeting to retake the solo lead but also intend to move closer to earning a bonus if they beat the PCU Dolphins in their 12 noon shootout.
Diliman College, owned by former Sen, Nikki Coseteng, is currently locked for the lead with former champion Centro Escolar University at 8-1.
The Olivarez Sea Lions will also shoot for their 8th win when they duel with the Lyceum Batangas Pirates at 2 p.m.
Led by Mavrick Saguiguit and Lawrence Castro, the Sea Lions clinched a playoff for the last semis berth with a 94-78 win over the Dolphins last Monday to improve their record to 7-2.
Saguiguit went on to finish with 20 points spiked by two triples while Castro and Mike Santos added 14 points apiece.
The Blue Dragons should be inspired by their recent title win in the Division 2 of the Fr. Martin Cup.
Out to lead the Blue Dragons are Benin’s Kevine Gandjeto, Joseph Brutas and JM Salazar.
