Barangay Ginebra San Miguel point guard LA Tenorio is feeling like he’s 10 years younger these days.
He’s not only excited to be part of the Gilas Pilipinas training pool that he bowed to give his level best to earn the nod of coach Yeng Guiao.
The training pool is preparing for the fifth window of the FIBA World Cup here.
Tenorio, 34, is among the 20-man roster of the national team from where Guiao will select his final 12 for the two games in the qualifiers against Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
“This is the first time that I’ll play for coach Yeng,” said Tenorio, who is now on his 13th season in the PBA. “I’m looking forward to the experience of being handled by one of the best coaches in the country.”
The 5-foot-9 Tenorio was part of the national team that bagged silver medal in the FIBA Asia Championship here in 2013, and in the squad that played in the FIBA World Cup in Spain back in 2014.
Tenorio said he was a bit surprised that he was selected by Guiao.
