The Mandaluyong El Tigre and the Imus Banderas snapped their losing skids on Thursday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.
The El Tigre dumped the Quezon City Capitals, 87-76, to end a five-game losing spell while the Banderas squeaked past the Laguna Heroes, 67-65, to end a two-game slump.
Five players scored in twin figures for the El Tigre with Janus Lozada and Ronjay Buenafe posting 15 points each while Antonio Bonsubre Jr. finished with 13 points and 18 rebounds.
The El Tigre hiked their tally to 7-6 and pushed the Capitals to their eighth loss in 11 matches.
Mykee Cabahug and Jomari Sollano, meanwhile, delivered the last four points in the final 31 ticks for the Banderas to improve their record to 6-6.
Cabahug and Sollano finished with combined 25 points.
The Heroes dropped to 7-7.
