Paolo Hubalde completed a triple-double as the Valenzuela Classic bested the Pasig Pirates, 95-88, on Tuesday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The former pro fired 10 points, collared 10 rebounds and dished off 12 assists to steer the Classic, who snared their fifth win in 14 outings.
The Classic also drew strength from Reneford Ruaya, who pumped in 24 points and nine boards, as well as Chad Alonzo, who finished with 14 points.
The Pirates sank to their 11th loss in 14 matches despite the combined 53-point output of Francis Camacho, Jerwin Gaco and Mark Andaya.
Meanwhile, Yvan Ludovice and Jan Jamon powered the Pasay Voyagers past the Mandaluyong El Tigre, 74-70, for their sixth win against eight losses.
Ludovice had 24 points, five rebounds, eight assists and six steals while Jamon chipped in 17 points and six boards.
The El Tigre fell to 6-7.
