In western countries, Thanksgiving, celebrated every fourth Thursday of November, is a major holiday. It is a cause for celebration as families and peoples worldwide gather to thank God for the blessings they receive throughout the year.
Thanksgiving in the United States is a national holiday. Begun as a harvest festival, Thanksgiving has been celebrated nationally since 1789 on a proclamation by George Washington.
For some reason, the turkey, that huge, large bird native to the Americas, becomes the centerpiece of such a celebration. Known for its savory, sleep-inducing meat, it is also a popular choice among Americans during Christmas dinner.

TRIVIA PA MORE (Various Sources): According to A-Z Animals, despite their large size, turkeys are surprisingly adept fliers. They can be seen flying beneath forest canopy looking for somewhere to perch.
Turkeys do nest in trees, though they are most commonly found in open forests, woodlands and grasslands.
According to Yahoo news, turkeys are among nature’s biggest weirdos.
Turkeys are capable of providing us with tons of hilarious content, says Yahoo. They’ve been caught on camera gobbling to the tune of honking cars, chasing down mailmen, and performing vaguely disturbing dance rituals.
Yahoo says no other turkey video can ever quite compare to that of the bizarre turkey “death ritual” caught on camera last year, when turkeys were spotted circling a dead cat in Massachusetts.
Sa totoo lang, the turkeys were most likely just curious about the dead cat and trying to get a better look at it, according to National Geographic.
