JUST A THOUGHT: There never was a good war or a bad peace. – Benjamin Franklin

HIGH CLASS DRAMA: We’d normally expect TV drama stories culled from real life stories of people from the lower income class.
Not al l the t ime, begs incumbent Makati mayor Abigail Binay. She professes her life story is as full of twists and turns as it can get, fit for either an “MMK” or a “Magpakailanman” episode.
Then again, Mayor Abby isn’t in any mood to have her life story dramatized on TV. It’s enough that she shares it with a small circle of media guests, some of whom are her old friends.

FAMILY ISSUE: Mayor Abby says after finishing elementary and high school at St. Scholastica’s College in Manila, she lived away from her family as she pursued a degree in Human Ecology at UP Los Banos.
“I never lived with my parents again since.’’
She says such a set-up may have made her less close to some members of her family. Abby is currently in the middle of a political battle with her younger brother, Jun Jun, as they’re both running for Makati mayor.
She admits this has put the family in a difficult situation, especially her parents, Jejomar and Elenita. She’s also aware that being family, the issue won’t stop after the election.
Quite candidly, Abby admits that things would not have turned out this way had her brother kept his word not to run for Makati mayor per an earlier agreement.
The 42 year-old mayora says she’d rather that their respective projects be the butt of contention, not their rivalry.

TWO CAMPS: The 2019 election has divided the Binay family. Sen. Nancy is supporting Jun, while former Vice President Jojo is behind Abby.
Here’s Mayor Abby: “Celebrity is not all that important to Makati voters. Beyond the curiosity level, they vote on their own.
“We have launched the Makatizen card for use of millennials. It’s an all-around card that can be used for credit, identification, and access to certain benefits.”
