Former Bureau of Customs (BoC) Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon is expected to take his oath on Wednesday (November 21) as Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) director general.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said that arrangements are being made for Faeldon to take his oath of office before him.
“I understand he wants to take his oath before me tomorrow, then he may assume his post anytime thereafter,” Guevarra said.
He said Faeldon’s staff has been communicating with Guevarra’s secretary for the arrangements.
The oath-taking was being arranged after Guevarra announced that President Duterte signed yesterday, Nov. 20, the appointment papers of Faeldon as the new BuCor chief.
“Nicanor Faeldon’s appointment papers as director general of the BUCOR have been signed by the President and ready for release by the Executive Secretary (Salvador Medialdea),” Guevarra said.
The secretary noted that Duterte signed the appointment papers on the occasion of the BuCor’s anniversary.
“Today is also the 113th anniversary of the BuCoR,” he said. (Jeffrey Damicog)
