Madeleine Jeanne Argosino booked a ticket to next year’s world championships after finishing second in her age category in the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Langkawi in Malaysia over the weekend.
Argosino, who has been competing in local and foreign races, clocked 5 hours, 47 minutes and 59 seconds in the female 18-24 age category in the event won by Tamara Schmidt of Austria, who timed 5:30:04.
Argosino’s performance was also good for 25th place from all female participants and 209th out of 902 competitors overall in the 113-kilometer swim, 1.9-km bike, 21.1-km run race.
Her feat also earned her a slot to the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships in Nice, France happening on Sept. 7 to 8.
