STRATEGY is the one thing we all need if we want to be successful at something.
Famous athletes have their own strategy in order to win. Just ask Manny Pacquiao.
Successful businesses also have their annual business strategic planning to assess their current business strategies and make room for fresher ones.
In our personal lives, we also make strategies such as achieving that goal for our savings, career strategies, even dating strategies. Wherever you look, strategy will always be the thing that guides our actions.
In fact, this is one of the secrets that I talked about in my book, Secrets of the Rich and Successful. Yes you heard that right! And if you want to dig more about how this one became a secret of the rich and successful, go grab a copy of my book now!
For now, let’s identify the five reasons why we all need strategy in pursuing success.
Strategy helps you choose a DIRECTION
Back to the example I mentioned earlier on. Pacquiao did not become the iconic boxer that he is now if not for his game strategy. He can throw punches to his opponent however way and whatever direction he wants, let’s get that right, but I’m not sure if he’ll end up as the champion that he is now if he did just that.
You see, when you have a strategy, you follow certain protocols, rules, and disciplines. You study the situation and come up with ideas on how to attack in, with the goal of winning in mind. That’s how strategy works, it leads us to the direction of success.
Strategy clarifies your VALUES
Now in coming up with strategies, we always consider our personal values. For instance, providing a disposable material, say a plastic straw in your business can probably help cut down the costs since you can simply throw them away instead of paying someone to clean a reusable one and not to mention the cleaning materials needed.
But, you do have to evaluate whether or not this strategy is in line with your values, first. If you’re one who is particular with saving Mother Earth and disapproves of those that pose harm to nature (plastic straws?), this strategy is something you won’t even consider to begin with. Strategies make us revisit and re-evaluate our values.
Strategy allows you to focus on what’s IMPORTANT
In formulating certain strategies, we are able to filter those that are very important from those that aren’t. If your goal this year is to be healthy, that is, incorporating exercise and healthy diet in your routines, you will focus on these health-related activities.
Your time will most likely be spent going to gym or preparing healthy food and less of those that aren’t that important like movies or spending time with friends who eat out a lot.
Strategy increases the change for SUCCESS
Strategies require planning and planning involves studying – studying those that could work and those that may not work. Therefore, when we choose those that have the potential of giving us success, we step farther away from uncertainty. When we make strategies, we prepare for success!
Strategy makes you use your resources more EFFECTIVELY
Planning for the kinds of strategy that we will use involves studying the resources that we currently have. Will I be able to pull off this type of strategy considering the resources that I have?
We are then able to take a good look at our current resources the moment we start planning for our strategies. And the best thing about being able to assess our resources is being able to use it effectively.
You can be the most hard-working person and the most patient person in your workplace but without a good strategy, you’ll most likely end up where you are (still) even after a couple of years. It is strategy that propels you to places of unimaginable success, yes, those that have never even crossed your mind.
I want to share more about the importance of strategy and how it can help you become rich and successful. Get a copy of my book, Secrets of the Rich and Successful, and together, let’s discover how planning for strategies could just be the way to unlocking the next level of success!
