Four Chinese nationals were apprehended after a Chinese woman’s mutilated body was found inside their condominium unit in Makati City, Thursday night.
Police identified the suspects as Zhang Chuning, Zhang Cha Quan, Wang Xue, and Zhang Xixi.
The dismembered body of the victim identified as 26-year-old Wang Yalei was found stuffed in bags inside Zhang Chuning’s condo unit on the 11th floor of Lerato Residence Tower 1 in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City.
The gruesome killing, according to Makati police, was discovered when the housekeeping found a nylon bag containing bloodied clothes and a kitchen knife at the recovery facility of Lerato Residence Tower at around 6:30 p.m..
Upon learning such, security guards reviewed the closed-circuit television (CCTV) of the building and traced that it was disposed of from the 11th floor.
The guards went to Unit 1116 where they saw bags containing the chopped up body parts of the victim.
“The guards and employees saw the bags containing the chopped body parts. They then immediately called the police,” Director Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, said.
He said that the victim was mutilated around 4 a.m. on the same day.
Eleazar said Zhang Chuning confessed that she stabbed Wang Yalei several times.
According to Eleazar, Wang Yalei was about to stab Zhang Chuning during their heated argument, but the latter was able to take the knife and stab her (Wang Yalei) instead.
The body of the victim was chopped into six pieces. Her chest was found inside a luggage.
Prior to the killing, they reportedly had a drinking spree inside the condominium of Zhang Chuning.
“After talking to Zhang Chuning, we are now eyeing love triangle as the motive,” the NCRPO chief said.
He added that the suspect and the victim are both members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community.
The suspects are now held at the Makati police headquarters’ detention cell. (Jel Santos)
