IMUS CITY, Cavite — Police shot a drug suspect dead after he reportedly grabbed the gun of an escort after his arrest and five others in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Pasong Buaya I in this capital city.
Luisito Sarno, alias Chito, succumbed to bullet wounds while being treated at Our Lady of the Pillar Medical Center in Bayan Luma II, Imus.
A report that the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) released on Friday, November 23, said that the gun-grabbing happened while Sarno was being escorted by a police officer upon his arrest and five others, including one Panfilo D. G. Espiritu, in the neighborhood at 3:50 a.m. Thursday.
The police shot Sarno as his escort was struggling for the gun that he grabbed, it was reported.
Recovered from the suspects during the operation were nine small sachets containing “shabu” and Sarno’s Ford 150 car with plate WHK 505.
The operating team also found a packed suspected “shabu” weighing about 100 grams in Sarno’s vehicle, the police reported.
