Games Tomorrow
(Batangas City Coliseum)
2 p.m. – Tacloban vs BanKo-Perlas
4 p.m. – Creamline vs Adamson-Akari
Showing too fire this time, Creamline needed just a little over an hour to beat PetroGazz, 25-11, 25-13, 25-23, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Wednesday at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Alyssa Valdez, who led the Cool Smashers with 11 points in their 63-minute victory over the Angels, said they still want to push themselves further to prepare for a more crucial battle in the semis.
“We want to keep on improving and we always want to work hard for each win,” said Valdez, currently running second in the race for the Best Scorer of the Conference.
Creamline’s triumph tied them with BanKo-Perlas on top with identical 10-3 cards with one match remaining in the eliminations – against Adamson-Akari tomorrow.
The victory also avenged their 27-25, 17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-5 first-round loss to PetroGazz last Sept. 29.
Risa Sato also fired 11 points while Michele Gumabao added 10 points for the Cool Smashers, who exposed the Angels’ erratic plays en route to their win.
PetroGazz finished the elims with eight wins against six losses and could be facing Creamline in the best-of-three crossover semis pending tomorrow’s results of the remaining elims matches.
