The Bulacan Kuyas woke up from a slumber to eke out a 73-70 come-from-behind victory over the Pasay Voyagers on Thursday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Bulacan Capitol gym.
Bulacan recovered from a 19-point deficit as James Martinez and Jovit Dela Cruz sizzled from afar to help the Kuyas post their 10th win against five losses.
Martinez drained a triple while Dela Cruz completed four free throws in the last two minutes to erase a 70-66 deficit en route to victory.
Stephen Siruma paced the Caesar Angelo Wongchuking-backed Kuyas with 17 points even as Jorey Napoles added 14 points and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, the Pampanga Lanterns trounced the Laguna Heroes, 75-58, to improve to 6-10.
Levi Hernandez and Jeric Fabian had 18 and 17 points while Michael Juico chipped in 10 points.
