PHILIPPINES IN FOCUS: The Exground Film Festival, set in Wiesbaden, Germany, features the Philippines as Country of Focus this November.
Slated for screening are “Himala,” “NeoManila,” “Ang Panahon ng Halimaw,” “Buy Bust,” etc.
A total of 11 feature and 10 short films have been curated for the fest, says FDCP Chair Liza Diño.
Exground is among Europe’s important film festivals for independent productions.

ALEX NEARLY PASSED: While shooting a pool scene in Iceland’s extremely cold weather – negative zero temperature – Alessandra de Rossi says she thought she was just about to die.
It was almost a case of hypothermia, subnormal temperature of the body.
The scene is one of the highlights of Viva film “Through Night and Day,” whose story Alex wrote. Night and Day, now showing, is getting heaps of praise following a recent preview.
Viewers write the film is both funny and tearful, with excellent performances from leads Alex and Paolo Contis. One review calls the performances “stunning.’’

HUWAG, KUYA: Bosomy beauty Sanya Lopez still can’t shake off calling co-actors Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo “kuya.’’
To break the ice, their director Dom Michael Perez, asked Sanya and Dennis to share a torrid kissing scene on their first day of shoot.
Sanya plays Dennis’ wife in new GMA series, “Cain at Abel,” all about loving-then-warring brothers.
The series is now running with high ratings on GMA primetime. Aside from its drama-filled storyline about warring brothers, program is packed with hard action scenes and stunts.
