CATHOLIC Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Vice President Bishop Pablo David has denied the allegation of President Duterte that he is into illegal drugs.
“Into drugs? No sir. I’m not into drugs of any sort, whether legal or illegal. Never been,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I only take vitamins with fruit shake blended with malunggay in the morning,” added David.
The Kaloookan prelate even urged the President to try this.
“You might want to try it, Sir. It will do you a lot of good. God bless you,” David said.
But the Kalookan prelate said he helps rehabilitate people addicted to drugs in his diocese.
“I only help in rehabilitating people addicted to drugs. I partner with anti-drug abuse councils of the local government units of Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas in this endeavor,” said David.
This fresh allegation from Duterte just days after he also accused David of stealing donations to the church for the benefit of his family which the latter also denied saying his parents never taught him to steal.
“I think he has confused me for someone else,” David said that time.
He said people who are sick sometimes do not know what they are talking about.
“You see, people who are sick sometimes do not know what they are talking about, so we should just bear with them,” said David. (Leslie Ann Aquino)
