IT’S ABOUT TALENT: Talent matters at GMA. Network isn’t afraid to break away from the mold as it signs up and develops previously unknown faces such as Therese Malvar.
Therese’s reputation as an actor precedes her.
So young and so innocent, just turned 18, she is already a much accomplished actor. Under her belt is a string of best actress awards won nationally and internationally.
Consider: Therese was named Silver St. George Best Actress at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival for her work in “Hamog.”
For the same role, she bagged Screen International Rising Star Asia Award at the 15th New York Asian Film Festival.
The young lady is possibly the most decorated young actress hereabouts.
Her other awards include Best Actress at the 1st Cine Filipino Film Festival 2013 for “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita.”
Best Actress at the 11th Cinema One Originals Film Festival.
Artistic Excellence Award from the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Best Supporting Actress at the 2018 Eddys for “Ilawod.”
Best Supporting Actress for both “School Service” and “Distance” at 2018 Cinemalaya Film Festival.
No wonder GMA Artist Center finds in her an acting gem.
