SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY, Bulacan – Eleven suspected members of the Gapos and Akyat-Bahay Gangs were arrested in separate police operations in this city Tuesday night.
Citing the initial report of Supt. Orlando Castil Jr., chief of police here, Senior Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said that the suspects were arrested after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious white van roaming around Barangay Tungkong Mangga.
Police responded and chanced upon the white van. A brief chase ensued until three of the suspects were cornered in Barangay Maharlika.
Arrested were Gilbert Lacsamana, Jhon Jesus Laxamana, and Leonard Barrios.
In a follow up operation, Castil and his men arrested three members identified as Jerome Velasco, Marvin Patubo, and Ma. Buena Sedico.
Another follow up operation resulted in the arrest of five members identified as Rose Ann Sioson, Rachel Laxamana, Gemma Laxamana, Mikde Adoy, and Reginald Laxamana.
Recovered from the suspects were a white Toyota van, two flat screen televisions, two grenades, a 9mm pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, several toy guns, tools, and suspected carnapped motorcycles.
Intelligence reports said the suspects are responsible in a series of holdup incidents not only in this city but also in Marilao, Sta. Maria, Guiguinto, and nearby communities in the province. (Freddie Velez)
