Drug addicts might be forced to eat a “whole plate of shabu” so they would stop using the illicit substance, President Duterte warned last Wednesday.
The President threatened to resort to such drastic action after conceding that the filing of court cases against drug suspects was “tiresome.”
“If I hear about one more person who is scaring people with drugs, patay na. I myself will come here. Basta I will tell the police to make the drug addict eat all the shabu they have gathered,” Duterte said in Bisaya during his visit to Ozamiz City Wednesday.
“Maybe I will make you eat all the shabu and skip the arrests. Dealing with court cases is especially tiresome so it’s better if you will just eat it. I will make you eat a whole plate of shabu,” he said.
Duterte, who has vowed an unrelenting campaign against illegal drugs despite human rights concerns, explained that drug addicts might be fed with shabu “so that you will stop doing it.”
The former Davao City mayor said in the past, he even made someone eat marijuana. “I made him eat all of it. He was hospitalized. After four days he died,” he added.
To those who don’t believe his tough measures, Duterte claimed that his guards could attest he was the “first President they saw who will really beat people up, kick him, punch him, and slap him.”
Duterte said he previously forced a person to eat money and a diabetic to drink sugar. “For the other one, I poured boiling water in his face,” he added.
The President issue the latest remarks amid renewed resolve to protect and preserve the nation from the illegal drug problem, which he recently claimed have become a national security threat.
He vowed not to allow the drug contagion to destroy the country, reiterating his commitment to kill those behind it. He admitted that he was “one of those evil persons” who could match the wickedness of drug-linked persons.
“If you tinker with drugs, you will really die. You are up against the Republic. Don’t believe for a second that you are the only one who has the audacity of an evil person,” he said.
“An evil mayor or councilor or siblings can think of doing ten evil things, I can do it better 50 times that you can. Don’t scare people or else I’ll finish you all off if I get fed up with all these p***** i** ninyo,” he said
“It’s best to avoid me because I’m one of those evil persons. But the problem is I’m the one sitting in my position. So where will you go?” he added. (Genalyn Kabiling)
