A BUSINESSMAN was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head inside the comfort room of his office in Sta. Mesa, Manila, Wednesday, police said.
Case Investigator PO3 Jonathan Bautista identified the fatality as Marcelo Manuel, 67, a resident of Bautista Street, Pasay City. He was rushed by his employees to University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Initial investigation showed that one of his employees, Eleonor Robles, heard a loud sound coming from the comfort room at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday in Old Sta. Mesa.
Few seconds later, Marlon Palicpic, another employee of the company, arrived and knocked at the door of the comfort room, but there was no response. He decided to open the door and saw the victim sitting on the toilet bowl with a gunshot wound in the head.
Probers recovered from the scene a .9 mm pistol with five live bullets, a spent shell and a deformed slug.
Rosalina Manuel, the victim’s wife, claimed that her husband owned two types of gun.
Police are investigating the incident to determine whether or not foul play was involved. (Erma Edera)
