Fair weather and cloudy skies will prevail over the country this weekend while the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon, the State weather bureau said Friday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said that the effects of the northeast monsoon will continue to be felt over Luzon.
Amihan is the weather system usually associated with cool weather during the holiday season.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Quezon and Camarines provinces brought by the amihan.
PAGASA warned residents in these areas that flashfloods and landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
The Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.
In Metro Manila and rest of Luzon, amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.
Localized thunderstorms will affect Visayas and Mindanao, also bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
