Legitimate jeepney franchise holders and beneficiaries of the “Pantawid Pasada” program still have at least two weeks to claim their fuel cards as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board extended the distribution for this year until Dec. 15.
According to the LTFRB, the distribution period was extended to give ample time for beneficiaries or representatives of franchise holders to comply and submit documentary requirements for claiming of the fuel cards.
Under the Pantawid Pasada program, which is one of the government’s flagship social mitigation measures, fuel vouchers in the form of cash cards will be provided to qualified franchise holders of Public Utility Jeepneys to help them cope with increasing pump prices brought by the tax reform law.
The Pantawid Pasada fuel cards, containing P5,000 each, were processed by the Land Bank of the Philippines and funded through the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
Under Section 82 of the TRAIN law, qualified jeepney franchise holders are entitled to fuel vouchers as prices of fuel are expected to increase.
Indicated in the card is the complete name of the franchise holder, license plate number of the PUJ, region where the franchise was registered, and the card number to avoid misuse. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
