COTABATO CITY – Not even a grenade attack can stop the police from serving and protecting the public.
These were the words of Chief Insp. Esmael Madin, chief of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, after a grenade attack on his home in Barangay Bulalo, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao before dawn Friday.
No one was hurt in the 2 a.m. attack.
“I know who are those behind this attack and the continuous threats against me and my family,” Madin said without divulging details.
However, the police offier hinted that the attackers are among those whose illegal activities were busted by the CIDG in recent months.
“This is just the beginning, more are coming,” Madin quoted a message he received on his mobile phone after the attack. “We are unharmed but I need to relocate my family,” the CIDG officer said. (PNA)
