The tail-end of a cold front and the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to be the prevailing
weather systems that will affect most parts of the country this weekend.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the tail-end of a cold front will bring scattered rainshowers over Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte.
It advised residents, especially those in mountainous and low-lying areas, to be alert against possible landslides or flash floods due to scattered rains and thunderstorms.
On the other hand, the amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Residents in these areas were also advised to be extra cautious against possible landslides or flash floods during severe thunderstorms.
PAGASA has not issued a gale warning but it advised sea vessels of moderate to rough seas over the coastlines of Luzon and eastern section of Visayas due to moderate to strong winds. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
