STA. MARIA, Bulacan – A two-year-old boy was killed while two others were injured in a rock slide that hit their house in Sitio Gulod, Barangay Patag here Friday.
Liz Mungcal of the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, in a report to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, identified the victim as Leonard Dorimon Jr. The injured were his cousin Andrea Auditor, 3, and their grandmother Teresita Auditor, 60.
Leonard Dorimon Sr., the father of Leonard Jr., told police investigators that he was out of their house cleaning his motorcycle at around 3 p.m. when he heard a loud rolling sound and saw a big rock smashing into their house.
As a result, Dorimon Jr., who was inside, and Andrea and Teresita, who were standing in front of the house, were injured.
He was found alive under a bed by provincial rescuers at dawn yesterday. Dorimon Jr. was taken to a nearest
hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said Andrea and Teresita were also taken to the hospital where they are recuperating.
Senior Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, revealed that the house was located and stood on a former quarry site. (Freddie C. Velez)
