An independent survey has showed that incumbent Makati City Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay is leading the mayoral race against her brother former Mayor Junjun Binay.
PUBLiCUS Asia’s independent #PahayagNCR survey showed that 67 percent of respondents will vote for Abigail while 20 percent will go for Junjun. Ricky Yabut, the third candidate, garnered two percent.
On the other hand, nine percent of the respondents said they are still undecided. The remaining two percent said they did not choose anyone.
For vice mayor, incumbent Monique Lagdameo received 83 percent, while Makati Rep. Monsour del Rosario only attained nine percent. Five percent of respondents said they were undecided, while four percent said they did not choose anyone.
“For the first time in almost three decades, a Binay will finally lose the election for mayor of Makati City,” PUBLiCUS Asia said. “Abby Binay will likely beat her brother, ousted mayor Junjun Binay. Abby’s running mate Lagdameo will handily defeat Del Rosario for the VM post,” it added.
In Taguig City, Lino Cayetano, the brother-in-law of incumbent Mayor Lani Cayetano, and running mate Ricardo Cruz Jr. would dominate.
Cayetano of Nacionalista Party garnered 76 percent over PDP-Laban’s Arnel Cerafica’s 15 percent and independent candidate Sonny Boy Andrade’s one percent. Running mate Ricardo Cruz Jr. got 65 percent while PDP-Laban’s Henry Dueñas got 18 percent.
In Pasig, Robert Eusebio topped with 76 percent over Vico Sotto’s eight percent while Navotas went for Toby Tiangco over Dan Ang, 54 percent to 18 percent.
Incumbent Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro was virtually unopposed, with 86 percent, together with former Vice Mayor Marion Andres in the vice mayoral race, with 67 percent.
Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte dominated the mayoral race in Quezon City with 59 percent, followed by Bingbong Crisologo with 17 percent. The rest of the candidates garnered two percent.
In the vice mayoral race, Gian Sotto led the pack with 42 percent. Jopet Sison garnered 15 percent of the votes, while Roderick Paulate got 13 percent.
