A STREET sweeper died Friday morning after being run over by a bus of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) along United Nations Avenue in Ermita, Manila.
Initial report revealed that Jonnifer Besabe, 48, personnel of Manila Department of Public Safety (DPS) and resident of Mandaluyong City, was crossing the road while pushing a cart in front of Manila Police District (MPD) Press Corps office when the bus struck him around 6:30 a.m.
The victim was first sideswiped and managed to walk before he was pinned under the rear left tire of the bus.
It took three hours for authorities to remove the body of the victim from the site and bring it to Light Funeral Services for safekeeping and autopsy.
Meanwhile, a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide will be filed against bus driver Rico Balugo, 40, of 25 Centraza Village, Las Piñas. (Ria Fernandez)
