Two weather systems – the easterlies and northeast monsoon or “amihan” – will prevail over the entire archipelago in the next few days.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the easterlies or warm and humid winds originating from the Pacific Ocean will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao region.
PAGASA advised the public to be alert for possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate rains.
Meanwhile, the amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned residents in these areas of possible floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
A gale warning has been issued over the northern and western section of Northern Luzon due to rough seas, which will be dangerous for small sea craft.
PAGASA advised sea vessels of moderate to rough seas over the coastlines of the eastern section of the country due to moderate to strong winds originating from east to northeast.
Only slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the country. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
