Manny Pacquiao is in for a mega jolt when he steps into the ring against Adrien Broner on Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“He’s preparing to shock the world,” Kevin Cunningham, lead trainer of Broner, told boxingscene, from their training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“AB (Adrien Broner) is having a tremendous training camp,” said Cunningham, a former police officer, who has trained several world champions.
Pacquiao is favored in the first defense of his World Boxing Association welterweight title but Cunningham insists that Broner, also a multi-division champion, is highly capable of ruining the Filipino’ plans.
If victorious, Pacquiao is looking forward to a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, who is figuring in an exhibition match with a Japanese kickboxer on Dec. 31 at the Saitama Super Arena near Tokyo.
