As promised, Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions has opened the doors for other Filipino fighters to showcase their wares on US soil.
Joe Ramos, assigned by Pacquiao to run his outfit, told the Bulletin that top Filipino fighters, including ex-world bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales, will figure in a crucial bout in February.
Pacquiao’s tie-up with Al Haymon, who leads Premier Boxing Champions, also included an agreement on giving Filipino boxers signed by MP Promotions to appear in the shows.
“MP Promotions has been assured of many slots that’s why we are on the lookout for promising fighters,” said Ramos, noting that apart from Tapales, who is under Cebu’s Wakee Salud, other stables have offered their best fighters.
“We have many dates (boxing shows) to fill,” added Ramos.
Pacquiao inked a deal with Haymon a couple of months ago and their first foray will be the Jan. 19 clash with Adrien Broner at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao himself vowed that deserving Filipino boxers will be showcased on American soil using Haymon’s platform.
