President Duterte has nothing but pride for his Cabinet despite the allegations that one of them are facing at the moment.
Duterte made the statement amid allegations of favoring and insertions in the proposed 2019 budget hurled against Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno.
According to Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar, Duterte expressed his sentiment in a Christmas party Friday.
“Nagsalita siya ng kaunti about doon kay Secretary Ben Diokno, iyong nangyari doon sa Kongreso,” Andanar said.
Andanar said that the President expressed that he is satisfied with his Cabinet but reminded them to not get involved with corrupt practices.
“Ipinaliwanag din niya at ipinaaalala sa amin na, sabi niya na he is proud of this present Cabinet na, actually, dominated by non-politician ang kanyang present Cabinet,” he said.
“Ipinaaalala niya sa amin na iyong non-corrupt, iyong no corruption, iyong mga ganoon, tapos masaya siya overall. Masaya siya sa naging trabaho ng mga miyembro ng kaniyang Gabinete,” he added.
Duterte has been urged by members of the House of Representatives to reconsider the appointment of Diokno for various allegations linked to him in the proposed 2019 P3.575-trillion national budget.
Malacañang slammed the House of Representatives, saying its resolution and the conduct of some of its members during the “Question Hour” is unparliamentary and not honorable. (Argyll Geducos)
