For Adrien Broner, there’s just one thing that’s truly important on the night he fights Manny Pacquiao on Jan. 19 in Las Vegas.
“I don’t care about stopping him or whatever it’ a unanimous decision, as long as I’m victorious,” Broner told boxingscene during his open workout on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) in Miami Beach, Florida.
Broner, who challenges Pacquiao for the World Boxing Association welterweight crown at the MGM Grand, likewise swears that Pacquiao’s age is not preventing him from training like hell.
“I don’t know what to expect. I’m just training for the best Pacquiao. And I’m going to go out there and do what I have to do to get the victory,” Broner said.
“It’s not a mystery. He has seven losses. It’s not a mystery that he can lose but anyone can lose on any given day. It’s whoever prepares the best and I’m preparing myself to do what I need to do,” said the 29-year-old Cincinnati native.
During the training session, Broner, who has won world titles in four weight classes, did the mitts with chief trainer Kevin Cunningham.
