THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) is deporting Japan’s most wanted fugitive who reportedly headed a major fraud ring in Japan.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said 59-year-old Misao Koyama, also known as Misao Kaminsukaso, was arrested the other day on Gil Puyat in Manila by joint team of BI and Tokyo police operatives.
Morente said that Koyama will be deported to Japan where he is facing charges of forging documents to sell other people’s lands without their consent.
Bobby Raquepo, head of the BI’s fugitive search unit, said Koyama is the leader of an eight-man fraud ring that have reportedly swindled “billions of yen” from their victims in Japan.
“Japanese authorities sought our assistance in locating and deporting Koyama as he has a standing warrant of arrest for fraud,” said Raquepo.
Morente lauded the apprehension and warned undesirable aliens not to hide here to evade prosecution.
Koyama is now detained at the BI’s detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City, pending deportation. (Jun Ramirez)
