Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez formally assumed command of the Philippine Air Force during the change of command ceremony at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City Friday.
Commander-in-chief President Duterte presided over the event held at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.
Also in attendance were Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and other high-ranking military officers.
Briguez is a member of the Sinagtala Class 1986 of the Philippine Military Academy.
Prior to his appointment as PAF chief, Briguez was the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Western Command head in 2017.
He was also the vice commander of the PAF, chief of air staff of the PAF, commandant of cadets at the PMA, and assistant chief of air staff for operations at the PAF.
Briguez replaced Lt. Gen. Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr. at the helm of PAF after Duterte decided to give him the opportunity to lead the command being a competent officer. (Francis Wakefield)
