The Department of Health yesterday reported that 32 persons have been injured by firecrackers.
It said that eight more persons were injured due to firecrackers from Wednesday to yesterday morning.
Four of the new cases were from Western Visayas, two from Cagayan Valley, and one case each from Central Luzon and National Capital Region.
The DoH noted that the total recorded firecracker related injuries so far are 32 cases lower compared to the same reporting period last year.
Still, majority of the victims were males with aged two to 50-years-old.
The DoH said that 19 sustained blast injuries without amputation; four sustained blast injuries which resulted into the amputation of the affected limbs; and nine had eye injuries. (Analou de Vera)
