An alleged drug personality was killed while his companion was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Independence St., Barangay Gen. T. de Leon, Valenzuela City Friday.
Police identified the fatality as Aldin Tepapi Gallego, 37, a construction worker. Arrested was Marlon Ocog Torcuator, 41, also a construction worker.
Both men are residents of the area.
The Valenzuela police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the buy-bust operation at about 2:40 p.m.
A poseur buyer managed to purchase one sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 from Gallego.
The undercover policeman signaled back-up operatives to arrest the suspects.
But Gallego sensed that he was dealing with authorities. He drew a caliber. 38 revolver and fired at the poseur buyer but missed.
Police retaliated and shot Gallego on different parts of his body. He was brought taken to the Valenzuela City Medical Center where he was declared dead.
Police arrested Torcuator and recovered three sachets of suspected shabu and an empty plastic sachet from him.
Retrieved from the crime scene were a caliber. 38 revolver loaded with four ammunition and five caliber 9mm fired cartridge cases.
Gallego’s body was taken to the Philippine National Police-Crime Laboratory Office through the Candido Funeral Services for autopsy. (Minka Claudia S. Tiangco)
