Letran made short work of Mapua, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, to clinch a semis berth in the NCAA juniors volleyball competition yesterday at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Squires needed only 58 minutes to wrap up the match, overpowering the Red Robins in all fronts to clinch their sixth victory in eight outings.
Letran’s win also towed University of Perpetual Help into the Final Four.
The Junior Altas are playing against the Arellano Baby Chiefs at presstime.
Christian Dela Cruz paced the Squires with 17 points while Mark Omega added 15 points. The duo also merged for 28 kills.
Letran outspiked Mapua, 45-26, and slightly made more blocks, 6-5, despite struggling with 27 errors.
The Red Robins absorbed a seventh loss in eight matches with Justin Chan being the lone double-digit scorer with 10 points.
Letran also swept Mapua in the men’s division, 25-15, 25-22, 25-20, for a second win against six defeats.
