SLUGS recovered from the scene where former bowling champ Angelo Nathaniel Constantino was shot and killed matched with the gun found at the basement parking space of the bowling center in San Juan City, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said Tuesday.
Based on the result of the examination conducted by the EPD Crime Laboratory, the four slugs, three of which killed the 48-year-old Constantino, and cartridge cases matched with the .45-caliber pistol recovered from the left side of the ramp leading to the underground parking space of the building.
The abandoned firearm was found by probers with its magazine loaded with three live bullets.
Initial investigation showed that around 5 p.m. Friday, a man wearing blue t-shirt, denim short pants, a medical mask and baseball cap entered the bistro on the second floor of the building near the bowling center.
Police said the gunman posed as customer who asked for the menu from the counter before taking out his gun from his sling bag and shot the victim at close range several times.
Constantino was just seated a few meters away from the counter.
The suspect then walked a few steps away and shot the victim again before pointing the gun at the service personnel who scrambled to hide after multiple gunshots were fired, police said.
The assailant then casually walked away from the scene again through the unattended basement parking space.
Constantino was declared dead-on-the spot by the city rescue team of San Juan after sustaining three gunshot wounds in the head.
The San Juan City Police on Sunday has formed a special investigations task group (SITG) headed by Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, the city police chief, to identify the assassin. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
