Makati Super Crunch rolled to its 10th straight victory on Wednesday with a 66-55 beating of the Rizal Crusaders in Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Bataan People’s Center.
The Super Crunch leaned on their defense, limiting the Crusaders to only eight points in the first quarter and dictating the tempo of the game to win with nary a trouble.
The win hiked the Super Crunch’s win-loss tally to 16-4, creating a three-way tie for second with the San Juan Knights and the Manila Stars in the North Division.
Jeckster Apinan spearheaded Makati with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Cedric Ablaza added 14 points and five boards.
The Crusaders absorbed their fourth consecutive defeat and fell to 5-15 card in the South Division.
Meanwhile, the Bataan Risers extended their winning streak to three games with an 84-78 triumph over the Navotas Clutch.
Richard Escoto and John Bryron Villarias had combined 27 points for the Risers, who improved to 17-2.
