President Duterte on Wednesday warned agrarian reform officials behind the delay in land use conversion to find another job or else risk getting thrown to Jolo, Sulu where they could be kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf Group.
The President disclosed plans to fire some officials of the Department of Agrarian Reform on Thursday for sitting on a case of land conversion for two years.
Duterte earlier suspected that corruption was probably involved in the slow conversion of farm lands to non-agricultural purposes.
“P**** i*** umalis ka diyan. Sabi ko kung nakikinig sila ngayon, maghanap ka ng ibang trabaho kung hindi assign kita doon sa Jolo,” Duterte said during the assembly of tricycle drivers and operators in Pasay City.
“Sasabihin ko sa Abu Sayyaf na kidnapin mo ‘yang p**** i*** na ‘yan,” he added.
The President earlier bared the imminent dismissal of DAR personnel behind the sluggish processing of land conversion applications. Duterte, in an event in Lucena City last Tuesday, said such applications should be processed in a month’s time, not two years.
The President in the Pasay event hinted about the dismissal of some erring DAR personnel Thursday.
“May susunod dito bukas. Tapos na ba yun Bong (Go)? Itong sa DAR, yung conversion from agricultural to, siyempre magpo-progress ‘yung lugar eh. from agricultural to forestal then you go to agriculture then you go to commercial. Abutan ng dalawang taon? P*** i*** umalis ka dyan,” he said. (Genalyn Kabiling)
