Led by the country’s promising figure skaters, the Philippines is set to compete in the 1st Winter ‘Children of Asia’ International Games on Feb. 8 to 17 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in Russia.
Leading the country’s campaign are 15-year-old figure skaters in Charmaine Skye Chua and Dianne Gabrielle Panlilio.
“I’m excited and thankful to be part of this once in a lifetime event. I will do my best to represent my country and my school,” said Chua who hails from St. Jude Catholic School.
For her part, Panlilio said he’s ready to take the challenge head on as she intends to leave a good impression.
“I expect to put out good performances in my programs, enough to make a good placing and make my country proud,” said Panlilio.
Other members of the PH team are speed skaters Anthea de Guzman, Xsandrie Guimba, Kayla Gonzales and Lora Sanchez.
The team will be handled by Frank Masayon and Dale Feliciano. Set to represent the country will be a couple of 15-year-old figure skaters in Charmaine Skye Chua and Dianne Gabrielle Panlilio. Also participating in the meet are speed skaters Anthea de Guzman, Xsandrie Guimba, Kayla Gonzales and Lora Sanchez.
