Cabinet members are expected to be as hard working as President Duterte in rendering public service, a Palace official said, after public satisfaction with the official family remained “good.”
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said it would be shameful if the Cabinet members were sluggish at work while the President was tirelessly serving the nation.
The Cabinet recently obtained a good public satisfaction rating based on a Social Weather Stations survey conducted last December. The latest +35 satisfaction rating was the highest for the Cabinet since the +32 grade recorded in September 2018.
“It serves as an inspiration for all of us in the Cabinet. When you have a President who’s always up and about, eh nakakahiya kung ikaw Cabinet at pakuya-kuyakoy ka lang,” he added.
In welcoming the survey results, Andanar expressed gratitude to the public for trusting and supporting the Duterte Cabinet.
“Pinakamataas diyan ay – iyang 35 na ‘yan for the entire year. So tayo ay nagpapasalamat on behalf of the entire Cabinet ‘no – salamat, salamat sa suporta ninyo and salamat din sa tiwala,” he added.
In the survey, 52 percent of the respondents were satisfied with the Cabinet’s performance while 17 percent was dissatisfied, resulting to a net rating of +35.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo also welcomed the survey results, saying the rating was a source of inspiration for the Cabinet to work harder to provide a comfortable life for Filipinos.
“As PRRD constantly reminds us, ‘We are here to serve.’ Complacency has no room in the remaining three-and-a-half years of the administration as we marshal all our energies and talents in assisting the President give fruition to his single-minded goal of bringing about the desired changes in our society,” Panelo said.
