A CARPENTER, described by his wife as a sleepwalker, died after falling from the window of a building in Pandacan, Manila, on Friday.
Case investigator PO2 Marlon Dee identified the fatality as Camilo Encenzo, 45, married, of Barangay Luzviminda, Dasmarinas, Cavite. He was declared dead on arrival at Manila Medical Center.
Police said they discovered the victim wounded and lying on the ground floor of a building undergoing construction at Bagong Diwa Elementary School on Linceo Street in Pandacan, Manila.
The victim was last seen sleeping atop a makeshift wooden bed attached to the nearby swinging glass window inside the social hall on the fourth floor of the building at around 9 p.m. on Jan. 25
Witnesses claimed that the victim may have sleepwalked straight to the open window and fallen down first on a parked vehicle before hitting the pavement.
The victim’s wife, Marichu Encenzo, 39, said that her husband was a “sleepwalker”.
Police said her statement was corroborated by several laborers who worked in the construction site.
Dee said that they would determine whether or not foul play was involved in the incident. (Erma Edera)
