Expect a longer ballot in the May 13 midterm polls.
Commission on Elections spokesperson James Jimenez said the ballot will likely be longer compared to the 17-inch ballot in the 2016 polls due to the number of candidates running.
“Our estimated length of the ballot is it will be 22 to 24 inches,” Jimenez said. “We appear to have more candidates, such as in the party-lists and senators,” added Jimenez.
The Comelec on Saturday released the list of candidates in the midterm polls which includes 76 senatorial aspirants.
The list also included 13 names of those still awaiting the Certificates of Finality before they are removed from the roster.
The Comelec had earlier said there will be a slight change in the ballot that will be used in the polls.
Partylist groups will no longer be in the front face of the ballot but at the back. In previous polls, partylist organizations were written below the names of the candidates for senator. (Leslie Ann G. Aquino)
